Delete your Gida account
This page explains how to delete your Gida account (operated by Gida Housing) and what happens to your data. It applies to accounts created in the Gida mobile app or on gidahousing.com.
How to request deletion
To permanently delete your account and its associated data:
- Email [email protected] from the email address on your Gida account.
- Use the subject line “Delete my account”.
- We verify that the request comes from the account owner, then delete the account and confirm by email.
You can also reach us from the app’s Profile tab. We complete verified deletion requests within 30 days, and usually much sooner.
What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:
- Your profile and account credentials
- Your renter preferences, listings and applications
- Your matches and saved homes
- Messages you have sent and received in the app
- Documents and photos you uploaded for verification
What we may keep, and for how long
We retain a limited set of records only where required for legal, tax, security or fraud-prevention purposes — for example, records of transactions or agreements you entered into. These are kept only as long as the law requires and are then deleted. Residual copies in encrypted backups are purged within 30 days of deletion.
